Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP) has decided not to comply with the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) summons today, as confirmed by the party's national spokesperson. The decision comes after Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of politicizing the matter, linking the CBI's actions to the imminent Lok Sabha elections.

SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary stated on Thursday that Yadav will be attending a meeting in Lucknow instead of heading to Delhi as summoned by the CBI. Amidst the controversy, sources within the SP reveal Yadav's schedule for the day, Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, “He (Akhilesh Yadav) is not going anywhere. He will attend a meeting in Lucknow. On the notice issued by CBI to Yadav, he said, "I do not have detailed information in this regard, but it is certain that he is not going to Delhi today."

According to SP sources, Yadav is scheduled to attend the PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority Classes) meeting at the party office here and as of now, he has no plans to go anywhere. Samajwadi Party Backward Class state president Rajpal Kashyap told, "Akhilesh ji will attend the PDA meeting at the party office today."
